(Seattle, WA) – SpectraCal, Inc., the world’s leading provider of display calibration software, announced today support for two new measurement devices from Colorimetry Research – the CR-100 colorimeter and the CR-250 spectroradiometer.
Colorimetry Research, a new organization founded by long-time color expert, Guillermo Keller, has been hard at work developing color measurement devices that are both highly accurate and more affordable than previous models.
“Guillermo is our kind of guy,” said Derek Smith, SpectraCal’s founder and CTO. “He won’t rest in his search for engineering excellence.”
The CR-100 and CR-250 meters are the result of Colorimetry Research’s engineering efforts. Both probes are of rugged construction, made of aluminum and stainless steel with all optical components fixed to ensure that no optical misalignment can occur.

The CR-100 is a fast, accurate, non-contact colorimeter with no mechanical shutter or moving parts to impede reliability or speed. As a colorimeter, the CR-100 has impressive low light handling and is extremely convenient to use, weighing only twelve ounces and measuring only seven inches in length.
With 5-nanometer bandwidth and 1.6 nanometers per pixel optical resolution, the CR-250 provides the precise accuracy expected of spectroradiometers at a fraction of the cost. Unlike other spectroradiometers of its kind, the CR-250 can be placed directly against the screen. This is made possible by the device’s rubber hood adapter, which provides a wide measurement diameter for contact readings. SpectraCal has worked closely with Colorimetry Research to ensure the highest performance and best results when these meters are used with SpectraCal’s display calibration software, CalMAN. |
“We’re thrilled that SpectraCal has added support for our meters,” said Keller. “With CalMAN and Colorimetry Research together, our customers will be able to achieve extremely precise and accurate display calibrations.”
Colorimetry Research’s CR-100 and CR-250 are supported in several professional license levels of CalMAN 5.4.0 and later, including CalMAN Studio and CalMAN Expert.
As an introductory special, interested buyers can receive $1,600 off their purchase when they buy CalMAN Studio and a Colorimetry Research meter together.
