Does cloud-based licensing mean that it needs to check the internet periodically?
a. Yes. As leading software companies have come on board with a cloud based licensing system, we are doing the same with CalMAN. Customer privacy is our biggest concern regarding CalMAN. No data about the user or the use of CalMAN is ever transmitted. Only license information is ever sent to the license server.
From time to time, CalMAN will need access to the internet to ensure that the license is up-to-date. A cloud based license enables customers to deactivate and activate licenses on the fly with high convenience. No longer will a customer need to contact customer service for a license or enter in a long string of text from an email to activate CalMAN.
How can I install a license on a machine that is offline?
a. There are many instances where loading a license offline is necessary. Upon installation of CalMAN or by opening the licensing dialog menu, you can load a request to generate a request by entering in your license ID. This will create a code that will be generated on the computer running CalMAN.
This code will then be transferred to a computer on the internet, where it will be uploaded via your assigned account. Lastly, a code will be generated which can be taken back to the computer running CalMAN, uploaded in the licensing dialogue, and CalMAN will become activated.
